CD release of New Noise Halden's first album release, Iain Matthews & The Salmon
Smokers Fake Tan , released in Europe by English Talking Elephant records
Talking Elephant is a record company that includes experts at Fairport
Convention-related artists. When the company heard the album former Fairport member Iain
Matthews has made with the Halden band The Salmon Smokers, they quickly contacted to
offer to be behind a CD release of the album.
On February 12, Fake Tan is available with a cover that is a miniature replica of it
lavish streetfold vinyl cover, with photos by Raymond Mosken and design by Bjørn
Kulseth. The printed inner cover from the vinyl has been transformed into an 8-page booklet.
The CD version of Fake Tan contains the bonus cut "Keep on sailing" which was b-side
on the long-sold out New Noise single edition of the classic "Woodstock".
Fake Tan has received a great reception from both critics (including 6 Prayers in Blues News)
and by Iain's longime fans. Who hears that the album involves a revitalization of some of
Iain's most held songs, both self-written and distinctive interpretations.
